Whether you’re someone who enjoys an intense work out, or has never played a sport: Get in shape, make new friends, learn something new! No experience necessary! You will fall in love with rugby at any age.
You’ll find an entire family of passionate and strong womxn to support you on & off the pitch. Open to all women and nonconforming people age 18+ in Goleta, Santa Barbara, and all neighboring cities.
Rugby is an exponentially growing sport here in the U.S. With the recent USA Sevens 2016 Olympic Women’s Rugby Team debut, and the 92-year comeback of Men’s Olympic Rugby in the Olympics, the interest and level of play is constantly being elevated!
Upcoming Events
Rugby Sevens Practice: Come to Chase Palm Park on Tuesday-Thursday evenings for some co-ed practice. All are welcome, regardless of experience level! Feel free to watch or play, and join at any point!
Tuesdays, 5:30pm-sunset: flag rugby, light contact
Wednesdays, 6pm-7:30pm: sevens practice, light to full contact
Thursdays, 5:30pm-sunset: touch rugby, light contact
Santa Barbara Sevens Tournament: Come watch the Mermaids play against other women's teams from all over California! We'll be hosting our home tournament on August 17th at Elings Park. Admission is free, and parking is $6. Dogs must be registered with Elings Park to enter. Tournament schedule coming soon!
Season Matches: Come watch the Mermaids play against other women's teams from all over California! We'll be playing in sevens tournaments about once or twice a month from June to September.
